About Amy

You may be wondering: what is my idea of happiness?
It depends what you're asking.

I made this jumpsuit!
If you're asking what is myideaofhappiness.blogspot.com then, put simply, the answer is a collection of recipes, tutorials and informative articles that I hope will interest you, in blog form. As a graduate of Brescia University-College's Nutritional Science program, and a current student of the Academy of Natural Health, I usually write on some tangent of natural health, eco-friendly living or food and nutrition. If you'd like to hear about a specific topic, please e-mail me.

If you're asking quite literally what my idea of happiness is then you can look to this Tolstoy quote:

Home is where the Algonquin Park is.
“I have lived through much, and now I think I have found what is needed for happiness. A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one’s neighbor - such is my idea of happiness. And then, on top of all that, you for a mate, and children, perhaps - what more can the heart of man desire?”

My incredible son, Oliver Wolfe
I am a 24-year old girl, working in a natural health food store (currently on mat-leave), transitioning to plant-based whole foodism and grow-your-own-ism and figuring out what it means to be a locavore living in southwestern Ontario. I share a house (yarn storage facility?) a bike ride away from farm land with three handsome boys, one of which is my husband, one our best friend, and one my charming son born on August 5th, 2011. I try to walk wherever I can, I cook everything in glass or cast iron, and I clean my kitchen with vinegar despite verbal lashing. I grew up the oldest of three wildly creative girls (my youngest sister contributes photos to this site), and the daughter of a computer genius and a nature lover. The most important things in my life are growing my connection to my Creator, consistently making wise decisions, and always making top notch coffee. I play a lot of guitar.

This little project is hungry for blog poets who can explain interesting subjects like winter camping and playing the banjo while on a juice fast. If you fit that description let's talk: myideaofhappinessblog@gmail.com
